Basketball Recap: New Diana Falls Despite Big Games from Taryn Reece and Jolie Ballard

New Diana lost against Harmony on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The New Diana Eagles fell 42-33 to the Harmony Eagles. New Diana just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.

Jolie Ballard and Taryn Reece certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ballard went 6 of 15 en route to 16 points and five rebounds, while Reece went 5 for 11 on her way to 15 points. The dominant performance gave Reece a new career-high in points.

New Diana's defeat dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Harmony, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 18-11 record this season.

New Diana will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Daingerfield at 6:45 p.m. New Diana is facing Daingerfield at the right time seeing as Daingerfield is stuck on a 21-game losing streak. As for Harmony, they are taking a road trip to challenge Chapel Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chapel Hill is on a four-game streak of home wins, Harmony a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
