Recap: Hicksville Aces vs. Antwerp Archers
The Hicksville Aces's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. Their rough 57-31 loss to Antwerp might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hicksville in their matchups with Antwerp: they've now lost five in a row.
Hicksville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kennedy Adams, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Steury, who scored five points.
Hicksville's loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-17. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.6 points per game. As for Antwerp, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hicksville will take on Edon at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Hicksville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday. As for Antwerp, they will head out on the road to challenge Hilltop at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
