Volleyball Recap: Acadiana Home School Athletics Wins High-Profile Matchup Against First Baptist Christian

Acadiana Home School Athletics faced First Baptist Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Commandos were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles. Surprisingly, this marked the Commandos' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The victory didn't come easy: First Baptist Christian scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-20, 25-22.

Leading Acadiana Home School Athletics to victory were Elijah Chopin and Leo Mader. Chopin had seven aces and four digs, while Mader had 21 kills and nine digs. Mader is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 14 games he's played.

Acadiana Home School Athletics' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. As for First Baptist Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Acadiana Home School Athletics and NELA Christian Homeschool will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for First Baptist Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lake Area HomeSchool Sports at 5:30 p.m. on the 7th. The Eagles are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
