Baseball Recap: Pequea Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Annville-Cleona on Wednesday, Pequea Valley came back down to earth. The Braves fell just short of the Columbia Crimson Tide by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Braves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crimson Tide earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Pequea Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Chappell, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Pequea Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Columbia, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-8 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pequea Valley will challenge rival Northern Lebanon at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Columbia is set to square off against their familiar foe Lancaster Mennonite at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
