Softball Recap: Mountain Ridge's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Mountain Ridge proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Herriman Mustangs, sneaking past 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Sentinels, who have now won nine games in a row.

Sydney Lambert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chloe Tycksen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Mountain Ridge pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Herriman, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-9.
