Baseball Recap: Mt. Spokane's Loss Ends Ten-Game Winning Streak at Home

Mt. Spokane dropped their record down to 14-4 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell 5-2 to the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Gonzaga Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games.

For Gonzaga Prep's part, Connor Wood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

At the plate, Grant Yost was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

While Mt. Spokane had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
