Baseball Recap: Central Florida Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Central Florida Christian Academy was the 16-12 winner over Jones when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jones Fightin' Tigers on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elijah Brenyo put in work no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out 12 over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Brenyo wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Casey Nipper, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-5. Nipper is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Central Florida Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Jones, their win ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-8.

Central Florida Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on First Baptist Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th. First Baptist Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Jones, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Evans at 6:00 p.m. Jones is facing Evans at the right time seeing as Evans is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
