Adding to the longest winning streak in AAAAA Region 8 this week, Gainesville beat Mundy's Mill 42-28. The victory was the 12th in a row for the team.
Gainesville led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on the Tigers.
Gainesville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Red Elephants feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Deshaun Watson has thrown for 3,240 yards and 42 touchdowns this season, while Jay Gaudlock has 81 catches for 1,131 yards. Watson also leads the league in rushing with 962 yards.
Michael Byrd of the Bruce Miller's team is just 63 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 129 carries Byrd has accumulated 937 yard this year.
Heritage made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,678 from 3,844.
