Basketball Recap: Clarksville Takes a Loss

Clarksville played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 57-37 to the North Harrison Cougars. The defeat continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Despite the loss, Clarksville still got an impressive performance from Julia Perissi, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 15 points. That's the most points Perissi has posted since back in November of 2023.

Grace Goldman was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards for North Harrison. Another player making a difference was Olivia Brown, who went 7 of 16 en route to 16 points and three steals.

Clarksville's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for North Harrison, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13.

Clarksville and North Harrison could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Clarksville (ranked 291st) will meet Shawe Memorial (ranked 97th) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, North Harrison will face off against Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 127 places (207 vs. 80).
