Volleyball Game Preview: Pine Creek Eagles vs. Liberty Lancers + Official Tickets

Pine Creek is 9-1 against Liberty since October of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will face off against the Lancers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pine Creek has three straight victories, Liberty has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Thursday, Pine Creek got the win against Fountain-Fort Carson by a conclusive 3-0.

While Pine Creek won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-23.

Pine Creek can attribute much of their success to Alyssa Valdez, who had 11 digs and three assists. Those three assists gave Valdez a new career-high.

Pine Creek was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Liberty came up short against Doherty on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-12, 19-25, 25-21.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Pine Creek, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Everything went Pine Creek's way against Liberty when the teams last played back in September, as Pine Creek made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
