Softball Recap: Willis Takes Down Eisenhower in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Willis had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the Eisenhower Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Wildkats, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Hadley Lebow made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Madison Culp and Sydney Prihoda did most of the damage at the plate: Culp went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Prihoda fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Those four hits gave Culp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexi Ford, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Willis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Willis pushed their record up to 20-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Eisenhower, they moved to 11-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Willis nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
