            Softball Recap: Frazier Mountain Falcons vs. Desert Scorpions        
        
		
        
        
            Frazier Mountain extended their losing streak  (dating back to last season) to 26  on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-10 in the process. They lost  25-8 to the Desert Scorpions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scorpions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  20-6  back in March.
As for Desert, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight  runs or more this season.
For Desert's part,  Alayna Phillips made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 12 batters over  five innings while giving up  five earned  (and three unearned) runs off only  two  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  Phillips has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances with four  stolen bases, five  runs,  and seven  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Rachel Hewes was  incredible,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI. She has been hot for a while, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last 13 times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Caroline Kesler, who  went 1-for-4 with four  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frazier Mountain will venture away from home to  square off against Rosamond  at 3:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Roadrunners have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.95  runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Desert, they will head out to  take on California City  at 3:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Ravens have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.9  runs per game on average), something the Scorpions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
