Soccer Preview: Hot Mars Meets Blackhawk

The Mars Fightin' Planets will head out to challenge the Blackhawk Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mars will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Mars' defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Knoch. Given Mars' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Knoch are ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Blackhawk was not quite Shaler Area's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to the Titans.

The win improved Mars' record to 8-1-1. As for Blackhawk, they have now lost four of their last five games on the road. That's left a mark on their 2-5-2 record this season.
