Basketball Game Preview: Marion-Franklin Red Devils vs. Granville Blue Aces

The Marion-Franklin Red Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Granville Blue Aces at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Marion-Franklin is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Dublin Scioto on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Marion-Franklin was dealt a 72-43 defeat at the hands of Dublin Scioto. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-18.

Meanwhile, Granville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They strolled past the Rams with points to spare, taking the game 62-48.

Granville pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Marion-Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Things could have been worse for Marion-Franklin, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 79-60 loss to Granville when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Marion-Franklin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
