Basketball Recap: Trinity Beats Fairview for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Trinity waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They took down the Fairview Warriors 57-41. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Warriors are ranked 470th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trinity's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaila Wiggins, who posted eight points along with 12 boards and seven steals. Wiggins has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Iniya Charlton was another key player, going 7 for 11 on her way to 16 points.

Trinity pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Fairview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Trinity will take on Ravenna in a tournament on Friday. Trinity is facing Ravenna at the right time seeing as Ravenna is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Fairview, they will be taking part in a tournament against Poland Seminary at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
