Basketball Recap: Flagler Comes Up Short

Flagler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 46-38 to the Cotopaxi Pirates.

Leading Cotopaxi to victory were Kenny Teter and Joel Tezak. Teter posted 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven blocks, while Tezak went 8-for-16 on his way to 20 points and eight boards. Teter has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Howell, who earned five points and four steals.

Flagler's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Cotopaxi, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Flagler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cotopaxi, they will face off against De Beque at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. De Beque is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
