Softball Game Preview: Hancock Hawks vs. Pascagoula Panthers

For the second straight game, Hancock will face off against Pascagoula. Hancock will head out to face off against Pascagoula at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hancock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Hancock's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Pascagoula by a score of 4-0. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Pascagoula's batters probably weren't too happy with Teegan DeWitt, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up zero walks). DeWitt has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aubre Martin, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylie Smith, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Pascagoula is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9. As for Hancock, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 11-3.
