Baseball Recap: Lake Braddock Takes a Loss

Lake Braddock couldn't beat St. Albans on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Bruins fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-5. The loss continues a trend for the Bruins in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Leo Dell'Omo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dom Cuadros was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. CJ Prentiss was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Lake Braddock's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for St. Albans, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-13.

Coming up, Lake Braddock will head out on the road to challenge Alexandria City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Bruins' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Albans, they will host Bullis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Albans is facing Bullis at the right time seeing as Bullis is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
