Banging Down the Door
Whitney was the better team in every quarter against Roseville last week and consequently the better team overall. The final score between Whitney and Roseville was a 56 - 7 blowout in Whitney's favor. The Roseville defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 35 points per game), and Whitney took advantage of that. Thanks to its success, Whitney cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 22nd spot.
There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.
Big Showdown
It was a battle of top-notch squads when Jesuit (6th in the power rankings) took on Franklin (16th) last week. Jesuit took its game by a score of 17 - 7. The game left the power rankings pretty much the same, although it did hoist itself up one spot.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another outing, another win last week for the team with the longest stretch of success (nine consecutive games). Inderkum got a somewhat close 25 - 20 victory over River Valley. Hopefully the win is satisfying enough on its own since Inderkum actually slipped one place in the power rankings.
Points Galore
72. That was the combined point total of Foothill and Placer when they went head to head last week, and it set the benchmark for all power ranking teams. Placer took its contest against Foothill by a conclusive 53 - 19 score. Placer saw its record improve to 7-1 and its power rank jump four places as a result.
