Preview: Cross Trojans vs. Baptist Hill Bobcats

Cross has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Baptist Hill Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Cross is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Baptist Hill in South Carolina (Cross is ranked 84th, while Baptist Hill is ranked 232nd).

Cross put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Lowcountry Leadership with a sharp 51-27 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Cross has posted yet this season.

Cross got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lauren Middleton out in front who scored 18 points along with six steals. Middleton is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Diamonique Nelson, who scored 13 points along with eight steals.

Meanwhile, Baptist Hill was able to grind out a solid win over Charleston Math & Science on Monday, taking the game 49-40. The win was just what Baptist Hill needed coming off of a 98-9 loss in their prior matchup.

Cross is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Baptist Hill, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Everything went Cross' way against Baptist Hill in their previous meeting on January 10th as Cross made off with a 43-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cross since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
