Basketball Recap: Badin's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Badin couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost to Trotwood-Madison at home by a 67-51 margin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Badin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Trotwood-Madison is ranked 18th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trotwood-Madison to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jermiel Atkins, who went 8-for-11 en route to 20 points and eight boards. Atkins is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last seven games he's played. Daveon Arnold was another key player, shooting 71% from the field on his way to 18 points.

Badin's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Trotwood-Madison, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-2.

Badin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trotwood-Madison, they will square off against Aiken at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Trotwood-Madison knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 26 contests -- so hopefully Aiken likes a good challenge.
