Basketball Recap: Blacksburg Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Blacksburg can now relate to. They took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eau Claire Shamrocks on Thursday. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Shamrocks from their previous meeting back in February of 2022.

Blacksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Eau Claire, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Eau Claire beat Blacksburg by a score of 45-37 later that day.
