Captain Shreve won the last time they faced Byrd and things went their way on Thursday too. The Gators walked away with a 35-27 win over the Yellow Jackets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gators.

Byrd's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Christian Maxie, who gained 190 total yards and three touchdowns, and Jackson Davis, who rushed for 85 yards and one score on only 12 carries. Maxie's longest reception was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Captain Shreve's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Byrd, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
