Softball Preview: Westview Wolverines vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils        
        
		
            
 The Westview Wolverines will head out on the road to  face off against  the Mt. Carmel Sundevils at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Westview is headed into the  match fresh off scoring the most  runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Valley Center with a sharp  18-1 victory on Tuesday. That's two games straight that Westview has won by  exactly 17  runs.
  Anessa Hartman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Hartman was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, a  triple,  and a  double.
 In other pitching news,  Kyra Olsen looked comfortable as she  tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive pitching appearances.
 Back at the plate,  Leilani Muller was  incredible,  scoring four  runs and  stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last four games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Taylor Thomas, who  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple.
 Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel came tearing into  Tuesday's  matchup with six straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Bulldogs onto the board and left with  an   11-0  win.
 Like Westview, Mt. Carmel also got a great game from a two-way player:  Hailey White. She  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. White was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Kaili Martha was  incredible,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-4.  Liliana Gonzalez was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Westview has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight contests,  which provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record  this season. As for Mt. Carmel, their record now sits at 16-9.
 Westview's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's   game. Westview has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 4.3  stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Mt. Carmel, though, as  they've been averaging  only 1. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Westview continue to outrun the ball?
 Westview might still be hurting after the  11-0 defeat they got from Mt. Carmel  when the teams last played  back in April. Can Westview avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
