Soccer Game Preview: Marcus vs. Guyer

The Marcus Marauders will square off against the Guyer Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Marcus is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Marcus is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Braswell get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Thursday. Marcus' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six matchups.

Meanwhile, Guyer unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Hebron by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Guyer came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Hebron are ranked 41st).

Guyer's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Marcus, their win bumped their record up to 8-2-2.
