Volleyball Recap: Tri-West Hendricks Comes Up Short

The Tri-West Hendricks Bruins didn't have quite enough to beat the Martinsville Artesians on Monday and fell 3-2. While the Bruins didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Artesians 25-17 in the first set.

While Tri-West Hendricks ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 11 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-17, 25-23, 20-25, 15-11.

Gabe Miller paced Tri-West Hendricks' offense, picking up 15 kills. Miller got some help from Kaleb Pfeifer and his 16 assists. Finally, Trey Elam kept Tri-West Hendricks' defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

River Jackson was the offensive standout of the game as he had 23 digs. Those 23 digs gave him a new career-high.

Tri-West Hendricks' defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-1. As for Martinsville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Tri-West Hendricks has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Indianapolis Lutheran on the 6th. As for Martinsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Whiteland on the 6th.
