Softball Recap: Brushton-Moira Takes a Loss

Harrisville hit Brushton-Moira with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers lost 17-8 to the Pirates.

Addisyn Mitchell was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Madisyn Parent was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Lillian Jones was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Brushton-Moira's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Harrisville, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Brushton-Moira wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 19-4 loss against Chateaugay on the 21st. As for Harrisville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Edwards-Knox at 5:00 p.m.
