Football Game Preview: Davenport West Falcons vs. Burlington Grayhounds

The Davenport West Falcons will take on the Burlington Grayhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Davenport West hasn't scored more than eight points for six games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Davenport West is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were outmatched by North Scott and fell 49-8. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Lancers are ranked 28th).

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Burlington and Clinton, and Burlington kept the tradition alive. The Grayhounds took down the River Kings 23-8 on Friday.

Burlington's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points over those games. As for Davenport West, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
