Baseball Recap: Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Environmental Charter

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 14-1 to the Environmental Charter White Tigers on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johan Gutierrez, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-11 draw against Stella High Charter Academy on the 20th. As for Environmental Charter, they have also already played their next game, a 10-2 defeat against Lawndale on the 21st.
