Volleyball Recap: Franklin Takes Down Ranked Marquette

Franklin is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Marquette. The Admirals came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 2-0. Winning may never get old, but the Admirals sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Lucy Riggar paced Franklin's offense, picking up nine kills. Riggar got some help from Emerson Garner and her 17 assists. Garner was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Despite the loss, Marquette had strong showings from Ellie Scanlon, who had three aces and three assists, and Addison Twyman, who had three digs and two aces.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Marquette, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Franklin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Summit on the 20th. As for Marquette, they will venture away from home to square off against Parkway Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
