Football Recap: Conner Gonzalez and Eric Melchor Pace Louise Defense + How To Watch

Louise was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 20-8 to the Danbury Panthers. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Louise lost, don't look at Eric Melchor. Despite the final result, he rushed for 62 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

Louise didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Conner Gonzalez and Melchor.

Christopher Warren had a dynamite game For Danbury., rushing for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries.

Louise's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Danbury, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Louise will challenge Woodsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Danbury, they will welcome Bloomington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
