Basketball Recap: Christ Church Episcopal Takes a Loss

If Christ Church Episcopal was feeling good fresh off their 50-29 takedown of Palmetto last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Christ Church Episcopal Cavaliers were outmatched by the Powdersville Patriots and fell 74-38. The Cavaliers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.

Despite the loss, Christ Church Episcopal still got an impressive performance from Caroline Johnson, who posted eight points and eight steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Kate Greco also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Powdersville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Davidson has posted since back in February of 2024. Caroline Sweet was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 24 points and three steals.

Christ Church Episcopal's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Powdersville, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Christ Church Episcopal didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-29 defeat against Greer on the 18th. Powdersville has also already played their next match, a 58-51 win against Lee Central on the 18th.
