Baseball Recap: Stevenson Beats Garfield for Their Second Straight Victory

Stevenson won against Alisal last Friday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Pirates beat the Garfield Bulldogs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Flint Dickson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

At the plate, Reggie Bell was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. He has become a key player for Stevenson: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

Stevenson's record is now 8-3. As for Garfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.

Stevenson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 13-7 defeat against Pleasant Valley on the 15th. As for Garfield, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-1 loss against Garces Memorial on the 14th.
