Rowan County extended their winning streak to eight on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 26-11 in the process. They skirted past the Russell Red Devils 7-5. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 10-5 win two weeks ago.

Jayson Ingles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Will Richardson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Rowan County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 10-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ben Dehart, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

As for Russell, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since April 17th.

On Russell's side, Kyle Mokas was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
