Piedmont was not able to secure the win in their season-opener on Tuesday. Neither they nor the Monroe Redhawks could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Jagger Jordan was handed one for Piedmont, while Monroe got theirs courtesy of Keven Lopez-Ramirez.

Kaleb Frost and Jonathan Alcauter scored both of Piedmont's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piedmont will venture away from home to square off against Asheboro at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monroe, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on West Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
