Baseball Recap: Gulf Shores Makes It Five in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Gulf Shores, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets on Thursday. For the Dolphins, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 win the Yellowjackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.

Gulf Shores' victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was John Luke Stephens, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Gulf Shores' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.8 runs across that stretch. As for McGill-Toolen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-7.

Gulf Shores will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellowjackets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
