Football Game Preview: Kickapoo Chiefs vs. Glendale Falcons

For the first time this season, Kickapoo will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will face off against the Glendale Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kickapoo is looking for their season's first win.

Last Friday, Kickapoo took a blow against Republic, falling 54-7. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Tigers are ranked 19th).

Meanwhile, Glendale played a tough contest last Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 42-21 to Joplin. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

Kickapoo will have to contain Trevor Heman as he made an impact in Glendale's last game. He picked up 141 receiving yards and one touchdown. Heman's receiving production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 120 receiving yards dating back to last season. Joelle Rover made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Glendale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Kickapoo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Kickapoo beat Glendale 26-14 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chiefs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
