Softball Recap: Oldham County's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Oldham County fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against North Oldham on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 9-8. The Colonels' loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Jozie Lashley was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Lashley was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Aubrey Batts was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Devyn Collins, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Oldham County's defeat dropped their record down to 17-2. As for North Oldham, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Coming up, Oldham County will face off against Bryan Station at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Defenders will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Colonels surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Oldham, they will head out to challenge DuPont Manual at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
