Softball Game Preview: Greenwood Wildcats vs. Upper Dauphin Area Trojans

The Greenwood Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwood is looking for their season's first win.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Greenwood's offense. They lost 18-0 to Susquenita on Wednesday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Upper Dauphin Area not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 9, 2024 (when they won 11-1). They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Juniata. Considering the Trojans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Upper Dauphin Area's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Greenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Greenwood might still be hurting after the 17-1 defeat they got from Upper Dauphin Area in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
