Triton had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 3-10 to make it four. They lost 18-1 to the Knox Redskins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.
Triton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jillian Bules, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
As for Knox, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3. Considering they have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Knox's side, Ava Jensen and Da'Miya Sherrod were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Jensen tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Sherrod pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Jensen went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Sherrod got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits Jensen has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Knox got a massive performance out of Madalee Hinshaw, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave Hinshaw a new career-high. Cheryl Barnes was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Coming up, Triton will be playing in front of their home fans against Morgan Township at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Knox, they will venture away from home to take on Tippecanoe Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Redskins' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
