Channel Islands is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Thursday. They will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Carpinteria Warriors at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Channel Islands is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Ventura. Channel Islands won by a set and slipped past Ventura 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since April 12, 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (100-90) Channel Islands actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 26-24, 17-25, 7-25, 15-8.

Meanwhile, Carpinteria entered their tilt with Pacifica on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Tritons.

Carpinteria was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-19, 23-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-11.
