Baseball Recap: Catholic Central Starts off Right with Win over Tuscarawas Central Catholic

Catholic Central had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints with a sharp 13-3 win on Saturday.

Michael DiCarlo made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. DiCarlo was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Fayak, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Matthew Jones, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Catholic Central beat Tuscarawas Central Catholic by a score of 9-6 later that day.
