While Jasper's win against Shepherd wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs skirted past the Pirates 59-56. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

When it comes to explaining why Shepherd lost on Saturday, don't look at Brayden White. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 30 points and 12 rebounds. The game was White's fifth in a row with at least 21 points. Bryson Goodman was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to eight boards and three blocks.

Jasper's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Shepherd, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Jasper will challenge Buna at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shepherd, they will head out to take on New Waverly at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
