Softball Recap: Mariposa County's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Mariposa County had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came out on top against the Stone Ridge Christian Knights by a score of 6-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 last Friday.

Hailey Hatcher was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one double.

In other batting news, Kallie Wass was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mariposa County pushed their record up to 19-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.

Mariposa County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-3 loss against Le Grand on the 30th. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-1 win against Gustine on the 30th.
