Basketball Recap: Coal City Snags 14th Win in Last 16 Games

While Coal City's win against Reed-Custer wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Coal City Coalers had just enough and edged the Reed-Custer Comets out 40-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Coalers.

Several Comets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Harlie Liebermann, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Toler, who had six points.

Coal City is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Reed-Custer, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coal City will head out to challenge Manteno at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Reed-Custer, they will venture away from home to face off against Lisle at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
