Basketball Recap: NSU University Sharks vs. Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves
The NSU University Sharks were the 58-31 winner over the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. NSU University fell just short of the ThunderWolves by a score of 41-38. NSU University has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
NSU University's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Giselle Grant, who scored 13 points along with six steals and five assists, and Tatum Billie who scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals. Grant has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
NSU University has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Oxbridge Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11.
NSU University will head out on the road to challenge the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pine's defense has only allowed 21.7 points per game this season, so the Sharks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Oxbridge Academy, they will take on the Buccaneers at TBD on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Benjamin is ranked 406th, while the ThunderWolves are ranked 381st).
