Football Game Preview: Veribest Falcons vs. Nueces Canyon Panthers

The Veribest Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Nueces Canyon Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Veribest's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Medina on Friday. They had to suffer through a 55-0 loss at the hands of the Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Bobcats are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, Nueces Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 38-12 to Knippa.

Nueces Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Veribest, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Veribest against Nueces Canyon when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
