Softball Recap: Inchelium Hornets vs. Wellpinit Redskins
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Inchelium). They were the clear victors by a 32-0 margin over the Wellpinit Redskins on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won six matches in a row.
Hailey Peone made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Peone was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one double.
In other pitching news, Beatrice Seymour looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Inchelium got a massive performance out of Tiana Flett, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and five RBI. Those five runs gave Flett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabella Finley, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and four RBI.
Inchelium always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .889. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
