The Wayne County War EaglesLady War Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the East Central Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wayne County, who comes in off a win.

Wayne County took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Vancleave by a score of 41-30.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for East Central's offense. They lost 21-0 to Northeast Jones on Friday. Despite 166 more yards than the Tigers, the Hornets couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Wayne County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for East Central, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Wayne County beat East Central 19-7 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the War EaglesLady War Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
