The Williamson County HomeSchool Falcons are taking a road trip to challenge Grace Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Falcons on Friday. Williamson County HomeSchool blew past Valor South Austin, posting a 62-16 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-16.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Williamson County HomeSchool to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thomas Cantey, who threw for 256 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Williamson County HomeSchool's leading receiver Luke Currie was Cantey's top target yet again, picking up 109 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Williamson County HomeSchool proved: they limited Valor South Austin to a paltry 3.4 yards per carry. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew CenTex HomeSchool out of the water with a 64-34 final score. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Grace Academy.
Grace Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Bridger Maxwell picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Williamson County HomeSchool's record is now 5-1. As for Grace Academy, their record now sits at 4-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Williamson County HomeSchool has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 280 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Grace Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 51.5 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
